A Bully Story

SOUTH SIDE GROUP OF STUDENTS WRITE, PRODUCE AND ACT IN A SHORT, EDUCATIONAL, INDEPENDENT FILM ABOUT BULLYING AWARENESS.
Troop 1602 and 3Wizemen Productions LLC Proudly Present “A Bully Story”.

April 12-14, a group of 5th grade south side elementary students with the help of Indianapolis based 3Wizemen Productions LLC filmed A Bully Story.

This documentary style, short film taking place throughout a typical elementary school day offers information and advice on what bullying truly is and what to do if a child is bullied or has witnessed it happening to someone else.  There is also a scene depicting cyber bullying, which is such a horrible current issue.

The idea originally came from Toni Morris (producer) and Girl Scout troop leader who had recently spent much of her time during her masters program in nursing, researching and studying this issue of bullying.  Toni asked Carissa Miller (producer) and co-leader of the Girl Scout troop, if we could somehow put a film together with the hopes of involving and showing it to the elementary school kids.   Carissa Miller’s husband Corey Miller is the owner of Indianapolis based independent film company 3Wizemen Productions LLC.  When he was approached with this project, he was more than happy to help using his production and directing resources.

The Girl Scout troop brainstormed for months, coming up with ideas for a script based on personal experiences or based on things that they had witnessed.  The girls were very hands on during the pre-production stage, choosing locations, wardrobe and casting the actors for the film.

Some of the parents of the students involved have shared with us what a great impact our film has already had on their child.  Our hope is for A Bully Story to empower and uplift children of all ages.

A Bully Story has had overwhelming support from the community during the production process and has already sold quite a few tickets for the premiere.  A Bully Story premieres on Saturday May 18 at the Historic Artcraft Theater in Franklin IN.  The doors will open at 6:15 and the show starts at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are only $2.00, cash only please.
